Product description

This engine locking kit is designed for precise alignment of both new and old versions of balance shafts in select BMW, Mini, and PSA engines. It is used to prevent noncircular engine running caused by misaligned balance shafts, which can occur during major engine service operations. The kit is particularly required when renewing the timing chain, replacing the crankshaft sealing ring, or changing the cylinder head gasket.

The tools in this kit are suitable for a range of engine codes, including BMW 1.6 (N40 / N45 / N45T, B16, B16A, B16AC), 1.8 / 2.0 (N42 / N46 / N46T), and 2.0 / 3.0 (N51 / N52 / N52-Component / N53 / N54); PSA 1.4 / 1.6 16V (EP3 / EP6 / EP6DT / EP6DTS); and MINI 1.4 / 1.6 (N12 / N14). The kit provides the necessary locking tools for both old and new balance shaft designs, as well as a crankshaft locking tool and a locking pin for the chain tensioner.
