How to choose earmuffs for your workplace:

Protective, anti-noise earmuffs protect the operator against harmful noise by reducing the sound level measured in decibels by the SNR parameter value. The upper limit for an 8-hour working day is set at 85 dB. If average noise measurements in the workplace exceed this value, then you should purchase earmuffs with an SNR parameter that will reduce the noise level to 85 dB or less. Assuming that we will work all the time wearing earmuffs with an SNR of 32 and in a work environment with a noise intensity of 116 dB, then we will reduce the noise to 84 dB.

If the time the operator wears the earmuffs is longer than several minutes, it is worth paying more attention to design elements that improve the comfort of wearing them. Sufficiently wide sealing cushions made of skin-friendly materials should fit the user's entire auricle. The soft padding of the headband relieves pressure on the upper part of the head. However, the strength with which the earmuffs adhere to the head affects not only the comfort, but also the damping efficiency, so for continuous use it is worth choosing earmuffs with, not necessarily the highest available, but an appropriately selected SNR parameter.
