The device first measures the real value of the sine wave in several time intervals  then squares the measurement results  sums them up  calculates the mean  and finally the mean result takes the square root. The measurement result is a real RMS voltage \/ current, even for a deformed sinusoid or square wave.\u003cbr\u003eNCV - non-contact detection of alternating voltage with the induction method.
